Master of Ministry Degree
Master of Ministry (M.Min.) Program
Advanced Ministry Preparation for Christian Leaders
The Master of Ministry (M.Min.) Program is designed for students who desire to deepen their understanding of theology while strengthening their effectiveness in Christian ministry. This program provides advanced training for those preparing for professional ministry or for those already serving as pastors, ministry leaders, missionaries, or church workers who wish to expand their academic and practical ministry foundation.
Admission into the Master of Ministry program requires that students have completed a minimum of 120 academic credit hours from previous post-secondary study. This prerequisite ensures that students entering the program possess a solid educational background and are prepared for graduate-level theological study.
The Master of Ministry degree focuses on the integration of biblical theology, ministry leadership, and practical application. Students engage in thoughtful study designed to help them grow both intellectually and spiritually while strengthening their leadership and ministry skills.
One of the strengths of the program is its flexible distance-learning format. Students are able to complete their studies at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home, making the program accessible for those actively serving in ministry or balancing family and vocational responsibilities.
Currently, all aspects of the program are delivered through email correspondence, allowing students to communicate directly with the school and submit assignments electronically. For those who prefer traditional materials, course documents may also be sent through traditional mail for an additional cost.
The Master of Ministry program is designed to equip students with deeper theological insight, practical ministry wisdom, and greater confidence in fulfilling their calling to serve Christ and His Church.
Master of Ministry Program Structure
The Master of Ministry degree provides students with two academic pathways designed to support different ministry and academic goals.
Standard Course Option
Students may complete the Master of Ministry degree through a ten-course program that focuses on theological study and ministry development. Each course is designed to strengthen the student’s understanding of Scripture, theology, and ministry leadership.
These courses explore areas such as:
Biblical and theological foundations
Practical ministry leadership
Pastoral care and ministry development
Church leadership and spiritual formation
This pathway allows students to focus fully on course-based learning while developing practical insights that can be applied directly in their ministry context.
Thesis Option
Students who desire a deeper research experience may choose the Thesis Option.
In this pathway, students complete:
Eight graduate-level courses
A six-credit thesis project
The thesis allows students to research and write on a ministry or theological topic related to their calling, leadership context, or area of interest. This research project provides an opportunity for students to engage in deeper study while demonstrating the ability to integrate biblical theology, ministry experience, and academic research.
The thesis option is particularly beneficial for students who may wish to pursue future doctoral study or develop specialized ministry expertise.
Learning Model and Study Format
The Master of Ministry program is designed to provide accessible graduate theological education for ministry leaders.
Students study through a distance-learning format, allowing them to complete their coursework while continuing to serve in their local church or ministry setting.
Key features of the program include:
Flexible study schedule
Self-paced learning environment
Direct communication with the school through email
Optional printed materials available through traditional mail (additional cost)
This model allows students to grow academically without needing to relocate or interrupt their ministry responsibilities.
